Haas+Sohn SOLIDO Wood Stove with Cooktop, Wood Compartment, and Deep Door for Versatile Heating and Cooking
The Haas+Sohn SOLIDO Wood Stove with Cooktop, Wood Compartment, and Deep Door is a compact continuous-burning stove that combines heating and cooking in one device. With a nominal heat output of 6.5 kW, it is suitable for well-insulated living spaces and offers optimal flexibility for modern, airtight buildings thanks to its air-independent design.
The compact design with a round steel body in deep black combines practical functions with efficient combustion. The integrated cooktop allows heating and preparing meals directly on the stove, while the wood compartment with door provides order and comfort in the living space.
Features & Advantages
- Integrated steel cooktop
Allows for warming and preparing food directly at the stove - ideal for everyday use and moments without electricity, without the claim of being a full cooking solution. - Practical wood compartment with magnetic door closure
Store logs up to 33 cm within easy reach and neatly behind the door - for order and comfort in the living area, the wood remains dust-free. - Generous rounded-arch glass ceramic viewing window
Provides an unobstructed view of the flames and creates a cozy, inviting atmosphere in any living space. - Integrated glass cleaning system

The high-quality lining stores heat optimally and ensures an even, efficient combustion of the fuel. - Removable ash drawer
Greatly simplifies maintenance and cleaning - ash can be conveniently and cleanly removed without opening the combustion chamber. - Compact round steel body in deep black
The reduced design focuses on clean lines and fits both modern and classic interiors without appearing obtrusive.
Application & Area of Use
With a rated heat output of 6.5 kW, the Haas+Sohn SOLIDO fireplace stove with cooking plate, wood compartment, and deep black door for well-insulated medium-sized living areas. The high efficiency of 75% ensures efficient fuel consumption of around 2 kg of firewood per hour. As a continuous-burning stove, it guarantees at least 90 minutes of burn time with wood and can also be fueled with brown coal briquettes.
The room-air-independent design (RLU) with an external combustion air connection at the back (Ø 100 mm) makes the stove ideal for modern, airtight buildings. It draws the combustion air from outside, thus minimizing the negative pressure in the living space. The top-mounted flue pipe connection (Ø 150 mm) facilitates installation and requires a draft pressure of 12 Pa at nominal output.
For safe installation, minimum distances of 200 mm to the sides and rear, and 850 mm to the front must be observed. With the compact dimensions of 1125 x 533 x 460 mm and a weight of 125 kg, the stove can be placed flexibly, but due to its weight, it should be installed by two people.
Approved fuels include firewood up to 33 cm in length, as well as wood briquettes and brown coal briquettes. The maximum log length of 33 cm corresponds to the most common size for home use and makes fuel procurement easier.
Approvals & Standards
The Haas+Sohn SOLIDO wood stove with cooktop, wood compartment, and deep door meets all relevant European safety and environmental standards for safe operation in residential buildings:
- EN 16510- Complies with the European standard for continuous-burning stoves and ensures safe operating characteristics
- Ecodesign emission limits Stage II - Meets the requirements of Stage 2 of the Federal Immission Control Ordinance, which comes into effect on 01.01.2025
- Type 1 - Approved for multiple use on the chimney, can be operated with other heating appliances on the same chimney
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the Haas+Sohn SOLIDO Wood Stove
What room size is suitable for the Haas+Sohn SOLIDO wood stove? With a nominal heat output of 6.5 kW, the stove is suitable for well-insulated living spaces of about 80-120 m². In practice, this means comfortable background heating for open-plan kitchens or larger living rooms without overheating the space. In older, less well-insulated buildings, the heated area is correspondingly reduced.
Can I operate the stove in an airtight new building?Yes, the stove is designed to be room air-independent (RLU) and has an external combustion air connection at the back with a diameter of 100 mm. This allows it to draw air directly from outside, minimizing the negative pressure in the house and enabling safe operation in modern, tightly built properties with controlled living space ventilation.
Which type of wood is suitable for the Haas+Sohn SOLIDO and how should I store it properly?Oven-dry firewood with a maximum of 20% residual moisture is recommended, for example beech, oak, or ash. The maximum log length is 33 cm. Wet or treated wood reduces efficiency and increases soot deposition. The integrated wood compartment keeps a small supply within reach and clean. More about this in our magazine: Properly store firewood: Tips for optimal drying and storage
How practical is the cooking function in everyday life? The integrated steel hotplate is suitable for gently warming food, keeping drinks warm, or cooking small quantities. It does not replace a full kitchen but is ideal for teapots, reheating soups, or as a practical addition during power outages. The temperature can be regulated by adjusting the fuel supply.
What should I consider when setting up and connecting the chimney? The top smoke pipe connection has a diameter of 150 mm and requires a draft of 12 Pa. Plan safety clearances of 200 mm on the sides and back, and 850 mm at the front. With a weight of 125 kg, the stove should be set up by two people. More on this in our magazine:Setting up a wood stove yourself: Instructions, tips & chimney sweep acceptance
How efficient is the stove and what does the 75% efficiency mean?An efficiency of 75% means that three quarters of the energy stored in the wood is delivered as room heat. With a fuel consumption of about 2 kg of logs per hour, you heat economically and in an environmentally friendly way. As a long-burning stove, it keeps the embers for at least 90 minutes, so you do not have to keep refueling constantly.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Installation, Smoke Control rules, delivery, and the price on this page—plain answers before the reviews.
Do you install this stove?
We do not install stoves or flue systems ourselves. Perth Stove Centre Ltd supplies the appliance and arranges carriage to your address. A qualified installer registered with HETAS (or an equivalent competent-person scheme) must fit the stove, connect the flue, and certify the work against Building Regulations Part J where that applies in your area.
We can confirm external dimensions, shipping weight, and the nominal heat output from the manufacturer datasheet so your fitter can check room size and liner diameter before you commit. Smoke Control Area authorisation, planning constraints, and grants that need an installer's invoice sit outside this online sale. Most buyers order the stove here and book the fitter once a delivery week is known.
How does stove delivery work at home?
Orders on this site leave our UK warehouse for the delivery address you enter at checkout. Deliveries outside the United Kingdom need an email agreement before payment, because carrier rules differ. Palletised stoves and inserts are handed over at kerbside or the nearest firm ground the HGV can reach. The driver does not carry units upstairs, through narrow hallways, or across soft ground without prior arrangement.
Before you pay, compare the pallet weight and crate size on this page with your doorway, path, and any steps. If access is tight, tell us when you order. When the goods arrive, inspect the packaging while the driver is still there. If the crate is crushed, torn, or clearly mishandled, write dated reservations on the delivery note (not a vague "subject to unpacking" line), take photographs, and email [email protected] within 48 hours with your order number so we can open a carrier claim.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
The catalogue mixes stoves, inserts, flue parts, and accessories from manufacturer end-of-line batches and scheduled stock rotations. The goods stay new; when the factory ships retail packaging, that is what arrives on the pallet.
Carriage for qualifying appliances is £35.99 including VAT, or free when the appliance subtotal in your basket reaches £350. Kiln-dried firewood, pellets, and other fuel lines never count toward that threshold. Checkout shows the exact shipping line before you pay. No shop pickup, and nothing is settled with the carrier at the door.
Can I burn wood if I live in a Smoke Control Area?
That depends on your local authority and on whether this exact model is listed as a Defra exempt appliance for wood. Smoke Control Areas are set by the council, not by us; check with them (or their map) before you buy if you are unsure.
Exempt appliances still need dry Ready to Burn wood and correct use. An open fire is not a Defra-exempt route for wood. If the product title or datasheet does not state Smoke Control / Defra exemption, ask us with the model reference before you pay rather than guessing from a similar stove.
Will an Ecodesign stove be hard to light or smoke into the room?
Modern Ecodesign stoves run cleaner air paths than older free-burning models. Forum complaints about smoke into the room usually track back to wet wood, a cold or undersized flue, or lighting with the air controls shut too early, not to the label alone.
Use kiln-dried Ready to Burn logs, get a HETAS fitter to size the liner and terminal, and follow the maker's lighting sequence. If your chimney has always been weak, tell the installer before the stove is ordered; a new firebox will not fix a flue that will not draw.
How do I choose the right kW for my room?
Nominal output on the page is a test figure, not a promise for every house. Insulation, ceiling height, open-plan layout, and whether the stove is the only heat source all matter more than picking the biggest number on the filter.
A HETAS installer (or a heat-loss calculation) is the safe route. Oversizing leads to slumbering and dirty glass; undersizing means the stove runs flat-out and still leaves cold corners. We can confirm the datasheet output and external size so your fitter can check the room before you commit.
