Justus Austin 7 Wood Stove with 7 kW Nominal Heat Output
The Justus Austin 7 wood stove with 7 kW nominal heat output is made of high-quality steel, and the combustion chamber is made of vermiculite. In our our shop, you can purchase the stove not only in the steel version but also in natural stone versions with soapstone or cream limestone. The soapstone cladding not only looks good, but it also stores the generated heat and can release it into the room long after the fire has gone out.
The integrated glass cleaning system provides a clear view of the flame. A airflow door handle ensures a comfortable temperature and prevents you from burning your fingers when opening the stove door.
Features & Benefits
- 24-Hour Continuous Operation
As a special feature for quality and environmental friendliness, Justus has designed the fireplace stove so that it can be operated for 24 hours. Since wood does not maintain embers as long as coal, fuel must be added more frequently. - Justus Triple Air System
This special system always ensures optimally dosed combustion air and guarantees particularly clean, efficient combustion. - Integrated Glass Cleaning
A specifically directed airflow prevents the condensation and deposition of flue gases on the inner side of the glass, keeping the glass clean. - Air-Flow Door Handle
The cooled handle remains pleasantly tempered even during extended operation and protects against burns when opening the oven door. - Soapstone Cladding
The natural stone cladding stores the heat and releases it evenly into the room for hours after the fire has gone out. - Vermiculite Combustion Chamber
The high-quality vermiculite combustion chamber lining ensures optimal heat insulation and high efficiency during combustion. - Integrated Wood Storage Compartment
The practical wood storage compartment under the combustion chamber provides space for firewood and keeps the appearance tidy.
Application & Area of Use
With a nominal heat output of 7 kW, the Justus Austin 7 wood stove is suitable for rooms of up to approximately 144 m³, which corresponds to an area of around 58 m² at standard room height. The stove is approved for use with wood, wood briquettes, and brown coal briquettes, with a maximum log length of 30 cm.
Instead of using valuable room air, air from outside can optionally be used for combustion. For this purpose, the wood stove must be retrofitted with a connection nozzle for external combustion air. This is particularly necessary in small or well-sealed rooms, where only a limited amount of oxygen is available.
The flue pipe connection with a diameter of 150 mm can be made either at the rear or top, providing flexible installation options. When setting up, safety distances of 200 mm from combustible components at the back and sides, as well as 800 mm in the radiation area in front of the stove, must be observed.
Do you still need the appropriate accessories for your Justus stove, e.g., stove pipes to connect to the chimney? No problem, you will of course also find what you need in our shop. This model is also available from us with 5 kW nominal output: Justus Austin 5 stove.
Approvals & Standards
- DIN EN 13240 - European standard for room air-dependent solid fuel appliances
- Ecodesign emission limits Stage II - Meets the requirements of the 2nd stage of the Federal Immission Control Ordinance
- 15a B-VG for Austria - Approval for the Austrian market
- Munich and Regensburg standard - Meets the strict local emission regulations
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the Justus Austin 7 Wood Stove
For what room size is the Justus Austin 7 wood stove suitable? With a nominal heat output of 7 kW, the stove is suitable for rooms of up to approximately 144 m³, which corresponds to an area of around 58 m² with a standard room height of 2.5 m. In well-insulated houses, it can also heat larger open living areas, while in poorly insulated old buildings, the heatable area is correspondingly smaller.
Which fuels can I use in the Justus Austin 7?The stove is approved for wood, wood briquettes, and lignite briquettes. Oven-dry firewood with a residual moisture content of no more than 20 %, such as beech, oak, or ash, is recommended. The maximum log length is 30 cm. Wet or treated wood reduces efficiency and increases soot deposits. More about this in our magazine:Storing Firewood Correctly: Tips for Optimal Drying and Storage
How does the 24-hour continuous operation work on the Austin 7?The stove is designed for continuous operation over 24 hours, which is a quality feature in terms of environmental friendliness. Since wood does not hold embers as long as coal, fuel must be added regularly. The Justus triple-air system ensures optimally dosed combustion air and consistent heat output over the entire operating period.
How do I properly fire up the Justus Austin 7?Start with dry kindling and fire starters in the lower combustion chamber area. Open the air control fully and let the fire catch well before adding larger logs. After the fire has caught, you can adjust the air supply according to the desired heating output. The integrated glass wash automatically keeps the view clear. More about this in our magazine: Properly lighting a wood stove - step by step
Can the Austin 7 be operated independently of room air?Yes, through the external combustion air connection with a diameter of 100 mm, both room air-dependent and room air-independent operation are possible. For connection to the external air supply, a separate connection nozzle must be retrofitted. This is especially recommended in modern, airtight houses with controlled ventilation to avoid negative pressure in the living space.
What advantages does the soapstone cladding offer?Soapstone is a natural heat storage material that absorbs the generated heat and continues to release it evenly into the room for hours after the fire has gone out. This provides a pleasant, long-lasting radiant heat and increases the efficiency of the stove. Additionally, the natural stone cladding gives the stove a high-quality, timeless appearance.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Installation, Smoke Control rules, delivery, and the price on this page—plain answers before the reviews.
Do you install this stove?
We do not install stoves or flue systems ourselves. Perth Stove Centre Ltd supplies the appliance and arranges carriage to your address. A qualified installer registered with HETAS (or an equivalent competent-person scheme) must fit the stove, connect the flue, and certify the work against Building Regulations Part J where that applies in your area.
We can confirm external dimensions, shipping weight, and the nominal heat output from the manufacturer datasheet so your fitter can check room size and liner diameter before you commit. Smoke Control Area authorisation, planning constraints, and grants that need an installer's invoice sit outside this online sale. Most buyers order the stove here and book the fitter once a delivery week is known.
How does stove delivery work at home?
Orders on this site leave our UK warehouse for the delivery address you enter at checkout. Deliveries outside the United Kingdom need an email agreement before payment, because carrier rules differ. Palletised stoves and inserts are handed over at kerbside or the nearest firm ground the HGV can reach. The driver does not carry units upstairs, through narrow hallways, or across soft ground without prior arrangement.
Before you pay, compare the pallet weight and crate size on this page with your doorway, path, and any steps. If access is tight, tell us when you order. When the goods arrive, inspect the packaging while the driver is still there. If the crate is crushed, torn, or clearly mishandled, write dated reservations on the delivery note (not a vague "subject to unpacking" line), take photographs, and email [email protected] within 48 hours with your order number so we can open a carrier claim.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
The catalogue mixes stoves, inserts, flue parts, and accessories from manufacturer end-of-line batches and scheduled stock rotations. The goods stay new; when the factory ships retail packaging, that is what arrives on the pallet.
Carriage for qualifying appliances is £35.99 including VAT, or free when the appliance subtotal in your basket reaches £350. Kiln-dried firewood, pellets, and other fuel lines never count toward that threshold. Checkout shows the exact shipping line before you pay. No shop pickup, and nothing is settled with the carrier at the door.
Can I burn wood if I live in a Smoke Control Area?
That depends on your local authority and on whether this exact model is listed as a Defra exempt appliance for wood. Smoke Control Areas are set by the council, not by us; check with them (or their map) before you buy if you are unsure.
Exempt appliances still need dry Ready to Burn wood and correct use. An open fire is not a Defra-exempt route for wood. If the product title or datasheet does not state Smoke Control / Defra exemption, ask us with the model reference before you pay rather than guessing from a similar stove.
Will an Ecodesign stove be hard to light or smoke into the room?
Modern Ecodesign stoves run cleaner air paths than older free-burning models. Forum complaints about smoke into the room usually track back to wet wood, a cold or undersized flue, or lighting with the air controls shut too early, not to the label alone.
Use kiln-dried Ready to Burn logs, get a HETAS fitter to size the liner and terminal, and follow the maker's lighting sequence. If your chimney has always been weak, tell the installer before the stove is ordered; a new firebox will not fix a flue that will not draw.
How do I choose the right kW for my room?
Nominal output on the page is a test figure, not a promise for every house. Insulation, ceiling height, open-plan layout, and whether the stove is the only heat source all matter more than picking the biggest number on the filter.
A HETAS installer (or a heat-loss calculation) is the safe route. Oversizing leads to slumbering and dirty glass; undersizing means the stove runs flat-out and still leaves cold corners. We can confirm the datasheet output and external size so your fitter can check the room before you commit.

Emily F. –
Airwash works if I use seasoned logs only. Green wood fogs the glass — my fault.
Michael R. –
Matches the listed kW. Secondary air easy to set. Ash pan empties without mess.
Grace L. –
Wood stove draws cleanly; glass stays clear with dry wood.
Natalie B. –
First embers after twenty minutes. Followed the instructions, otherwise it smokes on light-up.
Matthew V. –
Cast iron feels solid. Door seal good. Living room reaches temperature in under an hour.
Sarah M. –
Heavy unit; the carrier left it at the door. We installed it ourselves.
