Justus Texas V Wood Stove with 6 kW and Soapstone Ceramic
The Justus Texas V wood stove combines modern design with efficient heating technology and offers a reliable heat source with its nominal heat output of 6 kW for rooms up to 88 m³. The sturdy steel body in elegant black is complemented by the high-quality gray soapstone ceramic cladding, which impresses with its noble appearance while also providing excellent heat retention. Application & Area of Use
The Justus Texas V fireplace is ideal for larger living areas, open kitchen-living room combinations, or conservatories with its room heating capacity of up to 88 m³. The compact dimensions of 1010 x 500 x 390 mm also allow placement in smaller rooms, provided that minimum distances from combustible materials are observed: 200 mm at the back and sides, 1000 mm in front.
With a weight of 100 kg, the stove should be set up by two people. The top-mounted flue connection with a diameter of 150 mm significantly simplifies the connection to the chimney. The height from the bottom edge to the center of the flue pipe stub is 959 mm - important for planning the flue pipes.
Wood and wood briquettes are approved as fuels, with a maximum log length of 25 cm. The removable ash pan facilitates cleaning and maintenance. For continuous operation, the stove is approved as type 1 and can be used when the chimney is shared.
The required draft of 12 Pa should be checked by the chimney sweep before installation. The firebox lining made of fire concrete and vermiculite ensures optimal combustion conditions and longevity.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the Justus Texas V Wood Stove
What room size is suitable for the Justus Texas V wood stove? The Justus Texas V wood stove with a nominal heat output of 6 kW is suitable for rooms up to 88 m³ in volume. This corresponds to approximately 35 m² of living space with a ceiling height of 2.5 m. In well-insulated houses, it can also efficiently heat larger open living areas. The soapstone ceramic cladding additionally stores heat and releases it over a long period.
Which fuels can I use in the Justus Texas V?Only wood and wood briquettes are approved as fuels. Use only kiln-dried logs with a maximum moisture content of 20% and a length of no more than 25 cm. Treated or painted wood is not allowed, as it can damage the stove and cause harmful emissions. More on this in our magazine:Buying firewood: Tips for quality, price, and the right type of wood
How does the ventilated handle work on the Texas V?The ventilated handle is a safety innovation by Justus: The design continuously channels cool air through the handle, so it stays pleasantly cool even at high oven temperatures. This allows for safe operation without gloves and greatly reduces the risk of burns. This thoughtful solution makes handling the stove much more comfortable.
What minimum distances do I need to observe when setting it up?The following minimum distances must be maintained from combustible materials: 200 mm to the back, 200 mm to the sides, and 1000 mm to the front. These distances are mandatory for the operating permit from the chimney sweep. When planning, you should also consider the weight of 100 kg and choose a stable, level surface.
How do I properly light the Justus Texas V?Start with dry kindling and fire starters in the lower combustion chamber area. Open the air supply completely and ignite the fire from top to bottom. Once the fire is burning well, you can add larger logs. Adjust the air supply as needed for an even burn. More on this in our magazine:Heating a wood-burning stove correctly - step by step
Can I set up the Justus Texas V myself?Installation is possible in principle, but requires at least two people due to the weight of 100 kg. However, professional installation is more important: the connection to the chimney and the observance of all safety distances must be carried out by a specialist company. Before the first commissioning, acceptance by the responsible chimney sweep is mandatory.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Installation, Smoke Control rules, delivery, and the price on this page—plain answers before the reviews.
Do you install this stove?
We do not install stoves or flue systems ourselves. Perth Stove Centre Ltd supplies the appliance and arranges carriage to your address. A qualified installer registered with HETAS (or an equivalent competent-person scheme) must fit the stove, connect the flue, and certify the work against Building Regulations Part J where that applies in your area.
We can confirm external dimensions, shipping weight, and the nominal heat output from the manufacturer datasheet so your fitter can check room size and liner diameter before you commit. Smoke Control Area authorisation, planning constraints, and grants that need an installer's invoice sit outside this online sale. Most buyers order the stove here and book the fitter once a delivery week is known.
How does stove delivery work at home?
Orders on this site leave our UK warehouse for the delivery address you enter at checkout. Deliveries outside the United Kingdom need an email agreement before payment, because carrier rules differ. Palletised stoves and inserts are handed over at kerbside or the nearest firm ground the HGV can reach. The driver does not carry units upstairs, through narrow hallways, or across soft ground without prior arrangement.
Before you pay, compare the pallet weight and crate size on this page with your doorway, path, and any steps. If access is tight, tell us when you order. When the goods arrive, inspect the packaging while the driver is still there. If the crate is crushed, torn, or clearly mishandled, write dated reservations on the delivery note (not a vague "subject to unpacking" line), take photographs, and email [email protected] within 48 hours with your order number so we can open a carrier claim.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
The catalogue mixes stoves, inserts, flue parts, and accessories from manufacturer end-of-line batches and scheduled stock rotations. The goods stay new; when the factory ships retail packaging, that is what arrives on the pallet.
Carriage for qualifying appliances is £35.99 including VAT, or free when the appliance subtotal in your basket reaches £350. Kiln-dried firewood, pellets, and other fuel lines never count toward that threshold. Checkout shows the exact shipping line before you pay. No shop pickup, and nothing is settled with the carrier at the door.
Can I burn wood if I live in a Smoke Control Area?
That depends on your local authority and on whether this exact model is listed as a Defra exempt appliance for wood. Smoke Control Areas are set by the council, not by us; check with them (or their map) before you buy if you are unsure.
Exempt appliances still need dry Ready to Burn wood and correct use. An open fire is not a Defra-exempt route for wood. If the product title or datasheet does not state Smoke Control / Defra exemption, ask us with the model reference before you pay rather than guessing from a similar stove.
Will an Ecodesign stove be hard to light or smoke into the room?
Modern Ecodesign stoves run cleaner air paths than older free-burning models. Forum complaints about smoke into the room usually track back to wet wood, a cold or undersized flue, or lighting with the air controls shut too early, not to the label alone.
Use kiln-dried Ready to Burn logs, get a HETAS fitter to size the liner and terminal, and follow the maker's lighting sequence. If your chimney has always been weak, tell the installer before the stove is ordered; a new firebox will not fix a flue that will not draw.
How do I choose the right kW for my room?
Nominal output on the page is a test figure, not a promise for every house. Insulation, ceiling height, open-plan layout, and whether the stove is the only heat source all matter more than picking the biggest number on the filter.
A HETAS installer (or a heat-loss calculation) is the safe route. Oversizing leads to slumbering and dirty glass; undersizing means the stove runs flat-out and still leaves cold corners. We can confirm the datasheet output and external size so your fitter can check the room before you commit.
