Justus Usedom 5 W+ 2.0 Wood-Burning Stove with Integrated Heat Storage
The Justus Usedom 5 W+ 2.0 Wood-Burning Stove combines black steel with cast iron elements and its modern design. With its 5.5 kW nominal output, it can heat up to 88 m³ of room volume and creates a cozy atmosphere. The special feature of this wood-burning stove is the integrated W+ (warmthPLUS) heat storage. With the thermal charging of the storage stones, the stove continues to emit heat energy into the room for many hours after the fire has gone out.
The body is made of high-quality steel, the door and flap are made of solid cast iron, and the combustion chamber is made of vermiculite. The Swedish stove is available in different variants. In addition to the model in purist black steel, you can also get the stove with a soapstone or sandstone cladding. The prism glass gives the fireplace a unique touch.
Features & Benefits
- Heat storage W+ "warmePLUS"
This special storage material is placed over the combustion chamber into the dome of the stove and, depending on the loading, can continue to release heat into the room for up to 10 hours after the fire has gone out. - 24-hour continuous operation
As a special feature for quality and environmental friendliness, the stove was designed to be operated for 24 hours - ideal for continuous heat supply during the heating season. - Justus Triple Air System
The special air system always ensures optimally dosed combustion air, making the combustion particularly clean and efficient. - Integrated Glass Cleaning System
A specifically guided airflow prevents the condensation and deposition of flue gases on the inner side of the glass - for consistently clear views of the fire. - Pleasantly Tempered Door Handle
The air-cooled handle remains pleasantly cool even during operation and allows safe opening of the firebox door. - Firewood Compartment
An integrated compartment for neatly storing firewood keeps things organized and always has the wood within reach. - Multi-point locking
The multi-point locking prevents the fire door from warping due to high temperatures and ensures stable combustion quality through particularly good tightness.
Application & Area of Use
With a nominal heat output of 5.5 kW, the stove is suitable for rooms up to 88 m³ in volume. The connection is via a 150 mm flue pipe collar, either to the rear or top. The connection height for the rear flue connection is 1080 mm from the bottom edge.
Instead of using the valuable room air, outdoor air can optionally be used for combustion. For this, the stove must be equipped with a connection nozzle for external combustion air can be retrofitted. This is particularly necessary in small or well-sealed rooms, where only a little oxygen is available.
Permitted fuels include wood, wood briquettes, and lignite. The maximum log length is 25 cm. When setting it up, minimum distances to combustible materials must be observed: 200 mm at the back and sides, 800 mm in the front radiation area.
With a weight of 126 kg, the stove requires a stable base and should be installed by two people. Do you still need the appropriate accessories for your Justus fireplace stove, for example, stove pipes for connection to the chimney? No problem, you will of course also find them in our shop.
Approvals & Standards
- Ecodesign Stage 2 - Meets the requirements of Stage 2 of the Federal Immission Control Ordinance for environmentally friendly combustion
- DIN EN 13240 - Tested according to the European standard for room air-dependent appliances for solid fuels
- 15a B-VG for Austria - Approved for the Austrian market according to local building regulations
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the Justus Usedom 5 W+ 2.0 Wood Stove
For what room size is the Justus Usedom 5 W+ 2.0 wood stove suitable? With a rated heat output of 5.5 kW, the stove heats rooms up to 88 m³ in volume. This corresponds to about 35-40 m² of living space with a standard ceiling height. In well-insulated houses, it can also heat larger areas. The actual heating performance depends on insulation, room height, and desired temperature.
How long does the W+ heat storage continue to release heat after the fire is out?The integrated W+ heat storage with about 35 kg of storage mass can, depending on the charge, continue to release heat to the room for up to 10 hours after the fire has gone out. The storage stones are heated during the burning process and continuously release the stored energy - providing pleasant residual heat even without an active fire.
Can I install the wood stove myself, or do I need a professional? The installation is basically possible, but requires expertise and approval by the chimney sweep. With a weight of 126 kg, it should be set up by two people. Important are the minimum distances to combustible materials and a suitable base. The connection to the chimney must be done professionally. More about this in our magazine: Setting up a wood stove yourself: Instructions, Tips & Chimney Sweep Approval
Which firewood is best suited for the Usedom 5 W+ 2.0?Recommended is oven-dry firewood with a maximum of 20% residual moisture, e.g., beech, oak, or ash. The maximum log length is 25 cm. Wet or treated wood reduces efficiency and increases soot deposition. Alternatively, wood briquettes or lignite briquettes can also be used. More about this in our magazine: Store firewood properly: Tips for optimal drying and storage
What does the 24-hour continuous operation mean for the Justus Usedom? The stove is approved for continuous operation over 24 hours - a quality feature for environmental friendliness and safety. Since wood does not hold embers as long as coal, fuel must be added regularly. This allows for a constant heat supply throughout the entire heating period without operating breaks.
Do I need external combustion air for the wood stove? In modern, airtight houses with controlled ventilation, external combustion air is often necessary to avoid negative pressure. The stove has a standard connection for external air supply with a diameter of 100 mm. The corresponding connection piece must be ordered separately. In older or less airtight buildings, room air is usually sufficient.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Installation, Smoke Control rules, delivery, and the price on this page—plain answers before the reviews.
Do you install this stove?
We do not install stoves or flue systems ourselves. Perth Stove Centre Ltd supplies the appliance and arranges carriage to your address. A qualified installer registered with HETAS (or an equivalent competent-person scheme) must fit the stove, connect the flue, and certify the work against Building Regulations Part J where that applies in your area.
We can confirm external dimensions, shipping weight, and the nominal heat output from the manufacturer datasheet so your fitter can check room size and liner diameter before you commit. Smoke Control Area authorisation, planning constraints, and grants that need an installer's invoice sit outside this online sale. Most buyers order the stove here and book the fitter once a delivery week is known.
How does stove delivery work at home?
Orders on this site leave our UK warehouse for the delivery address you enter at checkout. Deliveries outside the United Kingdom need an email agreement before payment, because carrier rules differ. Palletised stoves and inserts are handed over at kerbside or the nearest firm ground the HGV can reach. The driver does not carry units upstairs, through narrow hallways, or across soft ground without prior arrangement.
Before you pay, compare the pallet weight and crate size on this page with your doorway, path, and any steps. If access is tight, tell us when you order. When the goods arrive, inspect the packaging while the driver is still there. If the crate is crushed, torn, or clearly mishandled, write dated reservations on the delivery note (not a vague "subject to unpacking" line), take photographs, and email [email protected] within 48 hours with your order number so we can open a carrier claim.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
The catalogue mixes stoves, inserts, flue parts, and accessories from manufacturer end-of-line batches and scheduled stock rotations. The goods stay new; when the factory ships retail packaging, that is what arrives on the pallet.
Carriage for qualifying appliances is £35.99 including VAT, or free when the appliance subtotal in your basket reaches £350. Kiln-dried firewood, pellets, and other fuel lines never count toward that threshold. Checkout shows the exact shipping line before you pay. No shop pickup, and nothing is settled with the carrier at the door.
Can I burn wood if I live in a Smoke Control Area?
That depends on your local authority and on whether this exact model is listed as a Defra exempt appliance for wood. Smoke Control Areas are set by the council, not by us; check with them (or their map) before you buy if you are unsure.
Exempt appliances still need dry Ready to Burn wood and correct use. An open fire is not a Defra-exempt route for wood. If the product title or datasheet does not state Smoke Control / Defra exemption, ask us with the model reference before you pay rather than guessing from a similar stove.
Will an Ecodesign stove be hard to light or smoke into the room?
Modern Ecodesign stoves run cleaner air paths than older free-burning models. Forum complaints about smoke into the room usually track back to wet wood, a cold or undersized flue, or lighting with the air controls shut too early, not to the label alone.
Use kiln-dried Ready to Burn logs, get a HETAS fitter to size the liner and terminal, and follow the maker's lighting sequence. If your chimney has always been weak, tell the installer before the stove is ordered; a new firebox will not fix a flue that will not draw.
How do I choose the right kW for my room?
Nominal output on the page is a test figure, not a promise for every house. Insulation, ceiling height, open-plan layout, and whether the stove is the only heat source all matter more than picking the biggest number on the filter.
A HETAS installer (or a heat-loss calculation) is the safe route. Oversizing leads to slumbering and dirty glass; undersizing means the stove runs flat-out and still leaves cold corners. We can confirm the datasheet output and external size so your fitter can check the room before you commit.

Emily F. –
First embers after twenty minutes. Followed the instructions, otherwise it smokes on light-up.
Peter S. –
Cast iron feels solid. Door seal good. Living room reaches temperature in under an hour.
Benjamin Q. –
Heavy unit; the carrier left it at the door. We installed it ourselves.
Hannah J. –
Wood stove draws cleanly; glass stays clear with dry wood.
Hannah J. –
Airwash works if I use seasoned logs only. Green wood fogs the glass — my fault.
Sarah M. –
Matches the listed kW. Secondary air easy to set. Ash pan empties without mess.
