Justus Usedom 7 Wood Stove with 7 kW Rated Output and Soapstone Cladding
The Justus Usedom 7 wood stove from Justus with a 7 kW rated output heats medium-sized living areas up to 144 m³. The wood stove is made of high-quality steel, and the firebox is made of vermiculite.
You have the option to customize the stove. In our shop, you can choose between the variants cast gray steel, cast gray steel with soapstone cladding, and black steel with sandstone cladding. The soapstone cladding stores the generated heat and releases it for hours. The prism glass gives the Justus Usedom 7 a unique touch.
Features & Advantages
- Multi-Point Locking
The multi-point locking prevents warping of the firebox door due to high temperatures. The good tightness prevents unwanted air from entering and thus keeps the combustion quality in the stove stable. - Justus Threefold Air System
This special system always ensures optimally dosed combustion air and guarantees efficient combustion with a high efficiency of 80%. - Integrated Glass Cleaning Airflow
A specifically guided airflow prevents condensation and the depositing of dust particles and soot on the inside of the glass, keeping the view of the flame unobstructed. - Pleasantly Tempered Door Handle
The air-ventilated handle stays pleasantly cool even at high operating temperatures and allows safe operation without the risk of burns. - Compartment for Firewood Storage
The integrated wood compartment beneath the combustion chamber provides practical storage space for firewood and ensures a tidy appearance in the living area. - Prism Glass Viewing Window
The large panoramic viewing window made of heat-resistant prism glass offers an unobstructed view of the flames and gives the stove a distinctive touch.
Application & Area of Use
As a special feature for quality and environmental friendliness, Justus has designed the Usedom 7 so that the stove can operate for 24 hours. Since wood does not retain embers as long as coal, fuel must be added more frequently. With a weight of 173 kg, the stove stands stable but should be set up by two people.
The Justus Usedom 7 wood stove has a connection for external fresh air. Instead of using the valuable indoor air, air from outside can optionally be used for combustion. For this, the stove must be retrofitted with an connector for external combustion air, so that operation independent of indoor air is possible. This is particularly necessary in small or well-sealed rooms, where only little oxygen is available.
The flue pipe connection with a diameter of 150 mm can be made either at the back or at the top, which allows for flexible installation options. The maximum log length is 33 cm. Approved fuels include brown coal, wood, and wood briquettes.
Do you still need the appropriate accessories for your Justus fireplace stove, e.g., stove pipes for connection to the chimney? No problem, you will of course also find them in our shop. You can also get this model from us as the Justus Usedom 5 with a rated output of 5 kW.
Approvals & Standards
- DIN EN 13240 - European standard for room air-dependent appliances for solid fuels
- Ecodesign emission limits Stage II - Meets the requirements of Stage 2 of the Federal Immission Control Ordinance
- 15a B-VG for Austria - Approval for the Austrian market according to building law
- VKF for Switzerland - Certification from the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurances
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the Justus Usedom 7 Wood Stove
For what room size is the Justus Usedom 7 wood stove suitable? With a rated heat output of 7 kW, it heats rooms of up to approximately 144 m³ - which corresponds to about 60 m² of living space with a standard ceiling height. Ideal for open living areas, living rooms, or larger single rooms in well-insulated houses. In older, poorly insulated buildings, the usable heating area may be correspondingly lower.
Which fuels can I use in the Justus Usedom 7?Approved fuels are wood, wood briquettes, and brown coal briquettes. Oven-dry firewood with a maximum of 20% residual moisture, such as beech, oak, or ash, is recommended. The maximum log length is 33 cm. Wet or treated wood reduces efficiency and increases soot deposits. More about this in our magazine: Storing firewood correctly: Tips for optimal drying and storage
Can I set up the wood stove myself or do I need a professional? With some craftsmanship skills, you can basically set up the stove yourself. Important: Before the first firing, the responsible district chimney sweep master must approve the stove. In addition, you should observe the safety distances and check whether your chimney is suitable for operation. If in doubt, it is advisable to hire a professional company. More about this in our magazine: Setting up the wood stove yourself: Guide, Tips & Chimney Sweep Approval
What does 24h continuous operation mean on the Justus Usedom 7?The stove is designed for continuous operation over 24 hours - a quality feature for robust construction and materials. Since wood does not maintain embers as long as coal, you need to add fuel regularly during wood operation. With coal operation, the embers last significantly longer.
Do I need external air supply for the Usedom 7?An external air supply is not strictly necessary, but it is recommended in well-sealed or small rooms. The stove comes with a standard connection for external combustion air (100 mm diameter). You also need an adapter to operate independently of room air. This protects the room air and improves combustion quality.
What safety distances do I need to observe when setting it up?Maintain at least 800 mm distance from combustible materials in front of the stove, 250 mm at the back, and 200 mm on the sides. These distances ensure safe operation and are required for chimney sweep approval. For non-combustible walls, the distances can be reduced - please consult your chimney sweep for advice.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Installation, Smoke Control rules, delivery, and the price on this page—plain answers before the reviews.
Do you install this stove?
We do not install stoves or flue systems ourselves. Perth Stove Centre Ltd supplies the appliance and arranges carriage to your address. A qualified installer registered with HETAS (or an equivalent competent-person scheme) must fit the stove, connect the flue, and certify the work against Building Regulations Part J where that applies in your area.
We can confirm external dimensions, shipping weight, and the nominal heat output from the manufacturer datasheet so your fitter can check room size and liner diameter before you commit. Smoke Control Area authorisation, planning constraints, and grants that need an installer's invoice sit outside this online sale. Most buyers order the stove here and book the fitter once a delivery week is known.
How does stove delivery work at home?
Orders on this site leave our UK warehouse for the delivery address you enter at checkout. Deliveries outside the United Kingdom need an email agreement before payment, because carrier rules differ. Palletised stoves and inserts are handed over at kerbside or the nearest firm ground the HGV can reach. The driver does not carry units upstairs, through narrow hallways, or across soft ground without prior arrangement.
Before you pay, compare the pallet weight and crate size on this page with your doorway, path, and any steps. If access is tight, tell us when you order. When the goods arrive, inspect the packaging while the driver is still there. If the crate is crushed, torn, or clearly mishandled, write dated reservations on the delivery note (not a vague "subject to unpacking" line), take photographs, and email [email protected] within 48 hours with your order number so we can open a carrier claim.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
The catalogue mixes stoves, inserts, flue parts, and accessories from manufacturer end-of-line batches and scheduled stock rotations. The goods stay new; when the factory ships retail packaging, that is what arrives on the pallet.
Carriage for qualifying appliances is £35.99 including VAT, or free when the appliance subtotal in your basket reaches £350. Kiln-dried firewood, pellets, and other fuel lines never count toward that threshold. Checkout shows the exact shipping line before you pay. No shop pickup, and nothing is settled with the carrier at the door.
Can I burn wood if I live in a Smoke Control Area?
That depends on your local authority and on whether this exact model is listed as a Defra exempt appliance for wood. Smoke Control Areas are set by the council, not by us; check with them (or their map) before you buy if you are unsure.
Exempt appliances still need dry Ready to Burn wood and correct use. An open fire is not a Defra-exempt route for wood. If the product title or datasheet does not state Smoke Control / Defra exemption, ask us with the model reference before you pay rather than guessing from a similar stove.
Will an Ecodesign stove be hard to light or smoke into the room?
Modern Ecodesign stoves run cleaner air paths than older free-burning models. Forum complaints about smoke into the room usually track back to wet wood, a cold or undersized flue, or lighting with the air controls shut too early, not to the label alone.
Use kiln-dried Ready to Burn logs, get a HETAS fitter to size the liner and terminal, and follow the maker's lighting sequence. If your chimney has always been weak, tell the installer before the stove is ordered; a new firebox will not fix a flue that will not draw.
How do I choose the right kW for my room?
Nominal output on the page is a test figure, not a promise for every house. Insulation, ceiling height, open-plan layout, and whether the stove is the only heat source all matter more than picking the biggest number on the filter.
A HETAS installer (or a heat-loss calculation) is the safe route. Oversizing leads to slumbering and dirty glass; undersizing means the stove runs flat-out and still leaves cold corners. We can confirm the datasheet output and external size so your fitter can check the room before you commit.

William H. –
Heavy unit; the carrier left it at the door. We installed it ourselves.
