Justus Vegas V Wood Stove with Soapstone Cladding and Warming Compartment
The Justus Vegas V wood stove combines 6 kW of heating power with soapstone cladding and offers efficient warmth for rooms up to 88 m³ with a nominal heat output of 6 kW. The body made of deep black steel with gray soapstone cladding makes it the stylish centerpiece of your living area. Especially practical: the air-circulated handle remains cool even when the stove is hot, and the integrated warming compartment allows you to keep food and drinks warm during operation.
With an efficiency of 80%, the Vegas V operates particularly efficiently and meets all current environmental standards, including Ecodesign Stage 2. The top-mounted flue pipe connection with a diameter of 150 mm makes installation considerably easier.
Features & Benefits

The innovative handle remains comfortably cool even when the stove is hot - for safe operation without risk of burns. - Practical warming compartment
The integrated warming compartment makes optimal use of the stove's heat - drinks and food stay pleasantly warm while heating. - Compact design
With the dimensions 1010 x 500 x 390 mm, it fits even in smaller rooms and requires little floor space. - Durable materials
The corpus made of deep black steel and the combustion chamber lining made of refractory concrete and vermiculite guarantee a long service life. - Energy efficiency class A+
High efficiency with low emissions - environmentally friendly and cost-saving in operation.
Application & Area of Use
The Justus Vegas V wood stove is ideal for living spaces up to 88 m³ and operates according to the proven convection principle. It draws in room air through integrated convection channels, heats it quickly, and distributes it evenly to the living area. This creates a pleasant, even room heating without cold spots.
As a room-air-dependent stove, it draws the combustion air directly from the installation room. The top-mounted flue connection with a diameter of 150 mm significantly simplifies installation - the connection height is 922 mm from the bottom edge to the center of the flue stub.
When installing, the minimum distances to combustible materials must be observed: 200 mm at the back, 300 mm on the sides, and 800 mm in front. With a weight of 100 kg, the base should be sufficiently load-bearing, and assembly should be done by two people.
Wood and wood briquettes with a maximum log length of 25 cm are suitable as fuel. The removable ash box greatly facilitates cleaning and maintenance. Suitable for continuous operation, it is approved as Type 1 for multiple occupancy.
Approvals & Standards
- Ecodesign Stage 2 - Meets the strict requirements of stage 2 of the Federal Immission Control Ordinance for low emissions
- Approval for Switzerland according to VKF - Tested and approved for the Swiss market
- Approval for Austria according to 15a B-VG - Complies with Austrian regulations for fireplaces
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the Justus Vegas V Wood Stove
For what room size is the Justus Vegas V wood stove suitable? The Justus Vegas V wood stove with a nominal heat output of 6 kW is designed for rooms up to 88 m³. In well-insulated houses, this corresponds to about 30-35 m² of living space with standard ceiling height. Thanks to its efficient convection technology, it distributes heat evenly throughout the room and is particularly suitable for open living areas.
How does the air-through handle on the Vegas V work? The air-through handle is a safety innovation from Justus: The design allows air to continuously flow through the handle, keeping it pleasantly cool even when the stove is hot. You can safely open and close the firebox door at any time without gloves or tools. This significantly increases both operating comfort and safety.
Which wood is suitable for the Justus Vegas V wood stove?Use only dry, natural firewood or wood briquettes. The maximum log length is 25 cm, with hardwoods such as beech, oak, or ash with a residual moisture content under 20 % being optimal. Treated or painted wood is not allowed and can damage the stove. More about this in our magazine: Proper firewood storage: Tips for optimal drying and storage
How do I properly light the Vegas V?Start with dry kindling and fire starters in the cold stove. Open the air supply completely and light the fire from top to bottom. Once the fire is burning well, add larger logs and regulate the air supply according to the desired heat output. The removable ash pan should be emptied regularly. More about this in our magazine: How to properly light a wood stove - step by step
Can I set up the Vegas V myself or do I need a professional? You can generally carry out the installation yourself if you maintain the minimum distances and the surface is load-bearing. Important: Before the first commissioning, the chimney sweep must inspect the stove and confirm the proper installation. The connection to the chimney should be carried out professionally, as tightness and correct sizing are crucial here.
What is the benefit of the warming compartment in the Vegas V?The integrated warming compartment optimally uses the stove's residual heat: you can preheat plates, keep drinks warm, or gently warm small dishes. The temperature in the compartment is significantly lower than in the combustion chamber, but sufficient for practical applications. The compartment is particularly useful in the cold season for warm drinks or for preheating dishes.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Installation, Smoke Control rules, delivery, and the price on this page—plain answers before the reviews.
Do you install this stove?
We do not install stoves or flue systems ourselves. Perth Stove Centre Ltd supplies the appliance and arranges carriage to your address. A qualified installer registered with HETAS (or an equivalent competent-person scheme) must fit the stove, connect the flue, and certify the work against Building Regulations Part J where that applies in your area.
We can confirm external dimensions, shipping weight, and the nominal heat output from the manufacturer datasheet so your fitter can check room size and liner diameter before you commit. Smoke Control Area authorisation, planning constraints, and grants that need an installer's invoice sit outside this online sale. Most buyers order the stove here and book the fitter once a delivery week is known.
How does stove delivery work at home?
Orders on this site leave our UK warehouse for the delivery address you enter at checkout. Deliveries outside the United Kingdom need an email agreement before payment, because carrier rules differ. Palletised stoves and inserts are handed over at kerbside or the nearest firm ground the HGV can reach. The driver does not carry units upstairs, through narrow hallways, or across soft ground without prior arrangement.
Before you pay, compare the pallet weight and crate size on this page with your doorway, path, and any steps. If access is tight, tell us when you order. When the goods arrive, inspect the packaging while the driver is still there. If the crate is crushed, torn, or clearly mishandled, write dated reservations on the delivery note (not a vague "subject to unpacking" line), take photographs, and email [email protected] within 48 hours with your order number so we can open a carrier claim.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
The catalogue mixes stoves, inserts, flue parts, and accessories from manufacturer end-of-line batches and scheduled stock rotations. The goods stay new; when the factory ships retail packaging, that is what arrives on the pallet.
Carriage for qualifying appliances is £35.99 including VAT, or free when the appliance subtotal in your basket reaches £350. Kiln-dried firewood, pellets, and other fuel lines never count toward that threshold. Checkout shows the exact shipping line before you pay. No shop pickup, and nothing is settled with the carrier at the door.
Can I burn wood if I live in a Smoke Control Area?
That depends on your local authority and on whether this exact model is listed as a Defra exempt appliance for wood. Smoke Control Areas are set by the council, not by us; check with them (or their map) before you buy if you are unsure.
Exempt appliances still need dry Ready to Burn wood and correct use. An open fire is not a Defra-exempt route for wood. If the product title or datasheet does not state Smoke Control / Defra exemption, ask us with the model reference before you pay rather than guessing from a similar stove.
Will an Ecodesign stove be hard to light or smoke into the room?
Modern Ecodesign stoves run cleaner air paths than older free-burning models. Forum complaints about smoke into the room usually track back to wet wood, a cold or undersized flue, or lighting with the air controls shut too early, not to the label alone.
Use kiln-dried Ready to Burn logs, get a HETAS fitter to size the liner and terminal, and follow the maker's lighting sequence. If your chimney has always been weak, tell the installer before the stove is ordered; a new firebox will not fix a flue that will not draw.
How do I choose the right kW for my room?
Nominal output on the page is a test figure, not a promise for every house. Insulation, ceiling height, open-plan layout, and whether the stove is the only heat source all matter more than picking the biggest number on the filter.
A HETAS installer (or a heat-loss calculation) is the safe route. Oversizing leads to slumbering and dirty glass; undersizing means the stove runs flat-out and still leaves cold corners. We can confirm the datasheet output and external size so your fitter can check the room before you commit.

Grace L. –
Wood stove draws cleanly; glass stays clear with dry wood.
William H. –
Heavy unit; the carrier left it at the door. We installed it ourselves.
Lucy S. –
First embers after twenty minutes. Followed the instructions, otherwise it smokes on light-up.
Sophie C. –
Airwash works if I use seasoned logs only. Green wood fogs the glass — my fault.
Amy R. –
Matches the listed kW. Secondary air easy to set. Ash pan empties without mess.
Charlotte N. –
Cast iron feels solid. Door seal good. Living room reaches temperature in under an hour.
