Oranier Polar W+ 2.0 Wood Stove with 40 kg Storage Mass
The modern Oranier Polar W+ 2.0 wood stove is characterized by its oval shape and offers a variety of cladding options. The oval shape gives it a soft appearance and makes it suitable for different living areas. In our variants menu, you can easily select your favorite. Thanks to the integrated glass cleaning system, the beautiful panoramic glass provides a long-lasting, unobstructed view of the fire. The practical compartment under the combustion chamber discreetly accommodates additional firewood.
The Oranier Polar W+ 2.0 shines with a nominal output of 6.5 kW and an efficiency of over 80%. This allows it to heat up to 131 m³ of room volume. Particularly efficient and environmentally friendly is the Oranier Polar also thanks to the storage mass. This is charged with thermal energy during combustion and releases the stored heat slowly into the room after the burn. The installed multiple locking system prevents the combustion chamber door from warping due to high temperatures. The beautiful wood stove thus controls the combustion more efficiently, and the triple-air system doses the combustion air optimally.
Features & Advantages
- Storage stove with 40 kg of storage mass
40 kg of storage mass is integrated in the upper part, turning the beautiful wood stove into a storage stove. During combustion, the storage stone absorbs thermal energy. It continues to release this energy into the room for a long time after the burn. This makes the stove especially efficient and environmentally friendly. - Multiple locking system
The multi-point locking system prevents the combustion chamber door from warping due to high temperatures. Additionally, it prevents the entry of unwanted air and stabilizes the combustion quality of the stove. - Triple air system
Thanks to the triple air system from Oranier, the combustion air is optimally dosed and always supplied where it is needed for the combustion process. This targeted use of primary, secondary, and tertiary air results in particularly efficient and environmentally friendly combustion. - Air-cooled handle
The handle of the combustion chamber door is continuously cooled by air flows. This reduces the risk of burns. - Enclosed wood compartment
Below the combustion chamber there is a closed wood compartment. Here you can discreetly store your firewood supply and always have it within reach. - Various cladding options
With the Oranier Polar W+ 2.0, you can choose your favorite from numerous models. You can complement the black steel body with different claddings - ranging from sandstone and soapstone to differently colored ceramics, Oranier offers a wide selection. - Integrated glass cleaning system
The sophisticated glass cleaning system prevents condensation and the deposition of dust particles and soot on the inside of the glass through a precisely directed airflow. This keeps the view of the flames unobstructed.
Application & Areas of Use
The Oranier Polar W+ 2.0 wood stove, with its rated heat output of 6.5 kW, is ideal for rooms up to 131 m³ in volume. This corresponds to about 55 m² of living space with a standard ceiling height. With a weight of 197 kg, it stands stable and secure, but should be set up by two people. Installation requires a solid base and adherence to safety distances from combustible materials.
Optionally, the wood stove can be retrofitted for external air supply. Instead of using valuable room air, air from the outside can optionally be used for combustion. For this, the wood stove needs to be retrofitted with a connection nozzle for external combustion air, making room air-independent operation possible. This is particularly necessary in small or well-sealed rooms.
The flue pipe connection with a diameter of 150 mm can be installed either at the rear or at the top, offering flexible installation options. Wood, wood briquettes, and lignite are approved as fuels, with a maximum log length of 30 cm. The stove is suitable for 24-hour continuous operation and meets all current emission regulations.
Approvals & Standards
- DIN EN 13240 - European standard for room air-dependent appliances for solid fuels
- Ecodesign emission limits Stage II - Meets the requirements of the 2nd stage of the Federal Immission Control Ordinance
- 15a B-VG for Austria - Approval for the Austrian market according to Article 15a B-VG
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the Oranier Polar W+ 2.0 Wood Stove
For what room size is the Oranier Polar W+ 2.0 wood stove suitable? With its nominal heat output of 6.5 kW, the stove is suitable for rooms up to 131 m³ in volume, which corresponds to approximately 55 m² of living space with a standard ceiling height. This output is completely sufficient for medium-sized living areas in well-insulated houses. For poorly insulated rooms or very high ceilings, you should plan for a slightly smaller room size.
How long does the stove retain heat after the fire has gone out? Thanks to the integrated 40 kg of storage mass, the stove continues to release heat over a long period, even after the fire has died down. The storage stones absorb heat energy during combustion and release it slowly again. This significantly extends the heat output, and the stove is suitable for 24-hour continuous operation. The exact reheating time depends on the duration of burning and the room temperature.
Which fuels can be used in the Oranier Polar W+ 2.0?Approved fuels are wood, wood briquettes, and lignite briquettes. The maximum log length is 30 cm, so commercially available firewood can be used without any problems. Well-dried hardwood with a residual moisture content below 20% is recommended. Softwood can also be burned, but it results in more resin deposits in the chimney.
Is operation independent of room air possible?Yes, the stove can be operated both dependent on and independent of room air. For room air-independent operation, it must be retrofitted with an external combustion air connection. This is especially useful in well-sealed houses, low-energy houses, or small rooms, as no valuable room air is used for combustion. The connection is made via a 100 mm diameter.
Which wood is best suited for the Oranier Polar W+ 2.0?Best suited is oven-dried hardwood such as beech, oak, or ash with a maximum of 20% residual moisture. These types of wood burn evenly and develop a high heating output. The log length should be a maximum of 30 cm. Fresh or damp wood significantly reduces efficiency and leads to increased soot formation. More on this in our magazine: Storing firewood correctly: Tips for optimal drying and storage
How do I properly start up the Oranier Polar W+ 2.0?Start with dry kindling and fire starters in the lower combustion chamber area. Fully open the air supply and gradually add larger logs after the fire has started. The triple-air system automatically regulates the combustion air optimally. Avoid overloading the combustion chamber and only reduce the air supply once the wood is fully ignited. More on this in our magazine: How to properly light a wood stove - step by step

Frequently asked questions about this product
Installation, Smoke Control rules, delivery, and the price on this page—plain answers before the reviews.
Do you install this stove?
We do not install stoves or flue systems ourselves. Perth Stove Centre Ltd supplies the appliance and arranges carriage to your address. A qualified installer registered with HETAS (or an equivalent competent-person scheme) must fit the stove, connect the flue, and certify the work against Building Regulations Part J where that applies in your area.
We can confirm external dimensions, shipping weight, and the nominal heat output from the manufacturer datasheet so your fitter can check room size and liner diameter before you commit. Smoke Control Area authorisation, planning constraints, and grants that need an installer's invoice sit outside this online sale. Most buyers order the stove here and book the fitter once a delivery week is known.
How does stove delivery work at home?
Orders on this site leave our UK warehouse for the delivery address you enter at checkout. Deliveries outside the United Kingdom need an email agreement before payment, because carrier rules differ. Palletised stoves and inserts are handed over at kerbside or the nearest firm ground the HGV can reach. The driver does not carry units upstairs, through narrow hallways, or across soft ground without prior arrangement.
Before you pay, compare the pallet weight and crate size on this page with your doorway, path, and any steps. If access is tight, tell us when you order. When the goods arrive, inspect the packaging while the driver is still there. If the crate is crushed, torn, or clearly mishandled, write dated reservations on the delivery note (not a vague "subject to unpacking" line), take photographs, and email [email protected] within 48 hours with your order number so we can open a carrier claim.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
The catalogue mixes stoves, inserts, flue parts, and accessories from manufacturer end-of-line batches and scheduled stock rotations. The goods stay new; when the factory ships retail packaging, that is what arrives on the pallet.
Carriage for qualifying appliances is £35.99 including VAT, or free when the appliance subtotal in your basket reaches £350. Kiln-dried firewood, pellets, and other fuel lines never count toward that threshold. Checkout shows the exact shipping line before you pay. No shop pickup, and nothing is settled with the carrier at the door.
Can I burn wood if I live in a Smoke Control Area?
That depends on your local authority and on whether this exact model is listed as a Defra exempt appliance for wood. Smoke Control Areas are set by the council, not by us; check with them (or their map) before you buy if you are unsure.
Exempt appliances still need dry Ready to Burn wood and correct use. An open fire is not a Defra-exempt route for wood. If the product title or datasheet does not state Smoke Control / Defra exemption, ask us with the model reference before you pay rather than guessing from a similar stove.
Will an Ecodesign stove be hard to light or smoke into the room?
Modern Ecodesign stoves run cleaner air paths than older free-burning models. Forum complaints about smoke into the room usually track back to wet wood, a cold or undersized flue, or lighting with the air controls shut too early, not to the label alone.
Use kiln-dried Ready to Burn logs, get a HETAS fitter to size the liner and terminal, and follow the maker's lighting sequence. If your chimney has always been weak, tell the installer before the stove is ordered; a new firebox will not fix a flue that will not draw.
How do I choose the right kW for my room?
Nominal output on the page is a test figure, not a promise for every house. Insulation, ceiling height, open-plan layout, and whether the stove is the only heat source all matter more than picking the biggest number on the filter.
A HETAS installer (or a heat-loss calculation) is the safe route. Oversizing leads to slumbering and dirty glass; undersizing means the stove runs flat-out and still leaves cold corners. We can confirm the datasheet output and external size so your fitter can check the room before you commit.

Airwash works if I use seasoned logs only. Green wood fogs the glass — my fault.
Jack F. –
Cast iron feels solid. Door seal good. Living room reaches temperature in under an hour.
Megan K. –
First embers after twenty minutes. Followed the instructions, otherwise it smokes on light-up.
Sophie C. –
Matches the listed kW. Secondary air easy to set. Ash pan empties without mess.
Daniel K. –
Wood stove draws cleanly; glass stays clear with dry wood.
George A. –
Heavy unit; the carrier left it at the door. We installed it ourselves.
