FeaturesAn amazing NEW PRODUCT! The "compressed log charcoal"
You know us as experts in compressed logs for your wood stove, insert, or fireplace, as a supplier for the best pizzerias with our , so trust us, you will love the compressed log charcoal for professional grills and your most demanding barbecues. It's new, highly efficient, and convenient.
How much do I need?
As we explain below, we sell this product by weight because it is the only way to guarantee that the customer gets what they paid for.
With a 10Kg box, you will easily make 10 good barbecues. Furthermore, this charcoal, which allows cooking for at least 4 hours, can be stopped from burning for future use (by cutting off the air supply in a closed barbecue or by immersing it in water). You will then have smaller pieces left, but just as effective for the next fire.
How does it compare to a regular bag of charcoal? A bag of restaurant-quality charcoal pieces from a very good brand, with a capacity of 50L, weighs 7 kg. Moreover, in a bag of charcoal pieces, you always have 5 to 10% of pieces at the bottom that are too small to use.
So if we reason in terms of weight only, the 10kg box of compressed charcoal in this case is equivalent to 70L to 80L of large charcoal pieces.
What is compressed log charcoal?
"CharbonBuche" is a compressed log that has been turned into charcoal in the same way charcoal is made. The difference is that instead of starting from traditional cut wood pieces, densified logs are used as raw material, a noble fuel.
Is it the same as coconut briquettes? or charcoal briquettes?
No, it is really different. Charcoal briquettes are made from charcoal dust and then compressed with additives to ensure cohesion. The result is a long heating capacity, but a reduced instant heating power, less than that of charcoal chunks.
Due to its production, the CharbonBuche combines the two advantages: instant heating power like restaurant-quality charcoal AND a long burning time.
What are the advantages compared to charcoal?
If you are familiar with compressed wood logs The Stove Centre for wood stoves, fireplaces, or inserts, and understand the many advantages over traditional cut wood, well, it’s the same thing when making a barbecue with this compressed log charcoal as when using charcoal, even the very good bags of restaurant-quality charcoal.
There is so much to say, but if we try to stay concise:
- Large and solid pieces, very little dust and small pieces like in the bottom of charcoal bags
- Does not dirty the hands
- Very high instant heating power
- Very long burn duration, up to 6 hours of cooking
- Easy ignition with
- Can be used multiple times: can be extinguished and relit (by smothering the fire or with a little water. The charcoal will relight once dry)
- Easily positioned in the barbecue to adjust the power (by spacing out the pieces), or even for indirect cooking
No dust, no fines
In charcoal, the less dust (fines) there is, the better.
Charcoal dust is dirty, slows down combustion, rises and sticks to food, and increases the ash content
With compressed charcoal there are no fines. The charcoal sticks are clean to the touch and 100% of what you buy will burn.
Let's think in terms of weight and not liters
When The Stove Centre arrived on the firewood market, we fought to bring clarity to the units of measurement. stere, m3, cords… All these units are incomprehensible to a user. We brought everything back to weight and moisture content because these are the main criteria when buying a good product at a fair price.
For charcoal, these criteria are: Carbon Content AND Weight AND Piece Size.
In our opinion, the liter is not a correct unit for this. The larger the pieces of coal (proof of quality), the less coal you will have in the bag (more space between the pieces).
So we invite you to compare the weight in kilos of the products you buy and the carbon content. The Simplygrill Log Charcoal from The Stove Centre is compressed. It takes up less storage space, and you have almost no space between the pieces of neatly arranged charcoal in the box.
Each charcoal stick has the same weight and will produce the same amount of heat.
You will quickly know how many sticks you need to put in your barbecue depending on the number of guests or the amount of food to cook.
Easy to dose, you will save on charcoal.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Fit, returns, compatibility, who we are, and what the price covers on accessories.
Does this accessory fit my appliance?
Check the compatible models listed on this page or in the maker's spare-parts diagram. Wifi modules, frames, air kits, and benches are often brand- and series-specific even when they look universal.
Email the stove model and serial plate photo to [email protected] if the listing is ambiguous. Guessing the wrong frame or wifi card wastes a week in returns.
Can I return it if the size is wrong?
Unused accessories in resalable condition can usually follow our returns process within the period stated in the terms, provided they were not specially ordered as non-stock. Opened electrical modules and cut flue parts are harder.
Measure twice against the datasheet before you open sealed kits. Carriage on returns may be yours unless we sent the wrong SKU.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
Parts and accessories are priced as the specific reference on this page, often from maker stock rotations or end-of-line batches while remaining new.
Small parts usually ship with the same appliance freight rules when ordered with a stove. Alone, checkout shows the shipping line before payment. Fuels never pull the order into free appliance delivery.
Will a wifi or control module work with my exact software version?
Makers revise boards and app firmware. The module on this page is the current spare for the listed series; older stoves sometimes need a different revision.
Send us the appliance model and, if you have it, the electronics board code from the manual or sticker. We would rather confirm than ship a module that pairs with nothing.
Do you fit frames, benches, or air kits?
No. We supply the part. Mechanical fitting, electrical isolation, and any flue or duct changes stay with your installer or a competent technician.
Forced-air kits in particular need correct duct sizing and fire-safe routing; that is not a carton-open DIY if you lack the skill.
What if the part arrives damaged?
Photograph the outer packaging and the part before you discard the box, note the delivery paperwork, and email us within 48 hours with the order number. That is the same evidence path we use for stove crates.
Do not install a bent frame or a cracked ceramic side and then claim later; fitting destroys the return route.
