We offer different log lengths in various packaging and with different levels of dryness.

These features may vary depending on the season, but you can see them all here:

But also, our champion:
The compressed log

In our opinion, the best wood fuel remains compressed wood logs... Dry, clean, compact wood that burns hot. You really need to try this...

Pallet of 1.7 stere of 33 cm calibrated logs ready to burn

This pallet offers everything needed for hassle-free domestic use: uniform drying, performance, and cleanliness for your appliance.

  • Low moisture (17 to 20%)
  • 1.7 stere stacked on a stable pallet
  • Logs 33cm in length
  • premium hardwood only (beech, oak, ash, hornbeam)
  • Local origin and responsible forest management
  • Partially freed from obstructive bark
  • Guaranteed sound wood, easy to handle, pest-free

Logs industrially dried for maximum heat

Our logs spend several days in an industrial kiln where temperature cycles reach up to 80°C, in order to ensure optimal moisture extraction.

This process results in ultra-dry wood, between 17 and 20% moisture, also called High Performance wood.

With this wood, expect instant combustion, little residue, and a caloric value 30% higher than standard semi-dry wood. In practice, investing in this pallet is equivalent to owning nearly 2.2 cubic meters of classic semi-dry wood.

High-efficiency hardwood species for stoves and fireplaces

Only the best wood species, recognized for their caloric power, are selected: oak, hornbeam, beech, or ash.

This type of hardwood ensures a slow and steady burn, releasing dense embers.

Split into different sizes to fit all types of fireplaces, these logs also benefit from drying that provides cleanliness and great ease of use.

Suitable for use in medium-sized fireplaces

If you own a medium-sized stove or fireplace, you probably use 30 or 33 cm logs.

This size corresponds to most fireplaces in terms of necessary power and wood consumption.

Usage tips:

Where to store your seasoned logs?

Given the ultra-dry quality level, we recommend storing it in your garage, against a wall. It can also be placed in your living room as decoration.

Outdoor storage is also possible but not necessarily required.

Can you ignite kiln-dried wood with just one fire starter?

The logs are so dry that in theory, yes, it is possible with a strong fire starter to get the fire going with just one fire starter. However, this requires using small-section logs and arranging them strategically.

But in practice, we always recommend adding kindling. The more intense the fire at the start, the better the temperature rise and the overall heating of the room.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is forestry?

Forestry is a technique for managing forest plots. Silvicultural practices can be summed up in four words: treat, manage, cut, and maintain.

What is the best firewood?

The most sought-after criteria by users for choosing their firewood are

  • burning duration: hardwood species in large sections are needed
  • easy ignition: the wood must therefore be extra dry, and in small and medium sections
  • easy-to-handle wood: the wood must be stripped of part of its bark, free of insects and mold through a process

Given these parameters, a mix of hardwood logs of various sections, which are extra dry and delivered on a pallet, is the best firewood

What is the difference between a pallet wood delivery and a bulk delivery?

Bulk delivery requires three times more storage time, causes dirt, and does not allow you to control the amount of wood actually received.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Moisture, pallet drop-off, storage, who we are, and what the price covers.

Is this Ready to Burn / dry enough?

Packaged firewood sold in small volumes in England must meet the Ready to Burn rules (under 20% moisture) when that scheme applies. Pellet lines on this site are sold to the grade shown on the page (commonly ENplus A1).

Wet fuel wastes heat, dirties glass, and in pellet appliances can swell and jam the auger. If a bag arrives torn and rain-soaked, refuse the wet stock with the driver or photograph it and email us within 48 hours with the order number.

Is delivery on a pallet, and can the lorry reach me?

Fuel usually arrives on a pallet to kerbside or the nearest firm ground the truck can reach. Drivers will not carry 15 kg bags up stairs or across a muddy lawn as a standard service.

If you live on a narrow lane, have a soft verge, or need a smaller vehicle, email us before you pay. Access failures and wet torn bags are the complaints we see most on fuel forums; flagging access early avoids a wasted journey.

Who sells and ships this product?

The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.

You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].

Is the product new?

What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.

How do you explain the displayed price?

Fuel prices follow the grade, bag count, and pallet make-up shown on this page. Firewood, pellets, and compressed logs never count toward the £350 free appliance delivery threshold, and fuel freight is never free whatever else is in the cart.

The cart shows the fuel shipping line before you confirm. We do not take cash from the driver, and we do not offer depot collection on this site.

How should I store pellets or logs once they arrive?

Keep bags sealed, indoors or under a proper cover, off damp concrete. A leaky shed or open porch is enough humidity to ruin a winter's pellets.

Logs need airflow if you buy larger volumes; Ready to Burn sealed nets are meant to stay closed until use. Do not stack fuel against the stove body.

Do I pay the driver for the wood or pellets?

No. The order is paid online before dispatch. The driver is not owed cash or a card payment for fuel or freight.

If someone at the door asks for money beyond a documented surcharge you already agreed with us in writing, refuse and contact us with the order number.

What if bags are torn or the pallet is wet?

Stay with the delivery, note dated reservations on the consignment note, photograph the damage, and email [email protected] within 48 hours. That is how carrier claims for fuel actually move.

Accepting a soaked pallet without notes makes replacement harder. Dry bags that are only scuffed on the outer wrap are usually fine; refuse fuel that has been sitting in water.

  3. Thomas B. –

Carrier booked a slot; dropped at the side gate as noted at checkout.
