The compressed log
The best firewood fuel, in our opinion, remains compressed wood logs... Dry, clean, compact wood that heats strongly. You really have to try this...

Logs dried quickly for intense heat
The use of industrial hot drying allows our logs to reach an exceptionally low moisture content in just a few days.
This process replaces several years of natural drying and guarantees you ready-to-use wood: fast ignition, low particle emission, and increased thermal efficiency.
By choosing this pallet, you benefit from 30% more calorific power than if you bought traditional wood dried for a year. This pallet would be equivalent to 2.1 cubic meters of wood!
Hardwood logs for controlled burning
Our logs come only from carefully selected hardwood species, offering optimal density for lasting embers and high heat output.
Their suitable size (10 to 20 cm) allows for flexible fire management, while partial debarking reduces dust and maximizes ease of use.
Easy-to-store log pallet, delivery across the UK
Delivery of firewood on a pallet ensures a practical, clean, and fast experience.
The stacked logs can be taken directly from the pallet or stored in a shelter in no time. At a glance, you can check the quantity received.
The 40cm size for high-power inserts and stoves
A fireplace, insert, or stove with a large firebox requires logs of the right length.
40cm is often ideal for handling and burning without obstacles. This size often allows easier handling than 50cm logs, as the logs are lighter.
Usage tips:
Where to store kiln-dried firewood? As it is ultra-dry, it can be stored even in an unventilated place.
But it can also very well be stored outside, protected from the weather, because even if it slightly absorbs external moisture on the surface, the wood grains have been opened by the drying process. It will therefore release the absorbed moisture very quickly when you bring the logs inside a day before burning them.
How to clean a stove glass?Start with a warm glass; the dirt will come off more easily.
Then use the ash on a damp newspaper to scrub the glass. By repeating this several times, you will have removed all the dirt, and your glass will be transparent again.
Frequently asked questions:
How many cubic meters of wood are needed to heat a 100m2 house?A 100m2 house consumes on average 12,000 kWh of energy, of which 10,000 kWh is for heating. If wood heating is the main heating method, then between 8 and 12 cubic meters of wood will be needed to heat this house in winter.
How to store firewood outside? If a stack of steamed wood is stored outside, it must absolutely be protected from rain and water runoff. But be careful to let the wood breathe. The mistake would be to put a tarp that covers the entire pile of wood. There is a risk that if a small amount of water accidentally gets inside the tarp, mold will develop.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Moisture, pallet drop-off, storage, who we are, and what the price covers.
Is this Ready to Burn / dry enough?
Packaged firewood sold in small volumes in England must meet the Ready to Burn rules (under 20% moisture) when that scheme applies. Pellet lines on this site are sold to the grade shown on the page (commonly ENplus A1).
Wet fuel wastes heat, dirties glass, and in pellet appliances can swell and jam the auger. If a bag arrives torn and rain-soaked, refuse the wet stock with the driver or photograph it and email us within 48 hours with the order number.
Is delivery on a pallet, and can the lorry reach me?
Fuel usually arrives on a pallet to kerbside or the nearest firm ground the truck can reach. Drivers will not carry 15 kg bags up stairs or across a muddy lawn as a standard service.
If you live on a narrow lane, have a soft verge, or need a smaller vehicle, email us before you pay. Access failures and wet torn bags are the complaints we see most on fuel forums; flagging access early avoids a wasted journey.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
Fuel prices follow the grade, bag count, and pallet make-up shown on this page. Firewood, pellets, and compressed logs never count toward the £350 free appliance delivery threshold, and fuel freight is never free whatever else is in the cart.
The cart shows the fuel shipping line before you confirm. We do not take cash from the driver, and we do not offer depot collection on this site.
How should I store pellets or logs once they arrive?
Keep bags sealed, indoors or under a proper cover, off damp concrete. A leaky shed or open porch is enough humidity to ruin a winter's pellets.
Logs need airflow if you buy larger volumes; Ready to Burn sealed nets are meant to stay closed until use. Do not stack fuel against the stove body.
Do I pay the driver for the wood or pellets?
No. The order is paid online before dispatch. The driver is not owed cash or a card payment for fuel or freight.
If someone at the door asks for money beyond a documented surcharge you already agreed with us in writing, refuse and contact us with the order number.
What if bags are torn or the pallet is wet?
Stay with the delivery, note dated reservations on the consignment note, photograph the damage, and email [email protected] within 48 hours. That is how carrier claims for fuel actually move.
Accepting a soaked pallet without notes makes replacement harder. Dry bags that are only scuffed on the outer wrap are usually fine; refuse fuel that has been sitting in water.
