Ready to Burn — suitable for UK domestic heating when stored dry.
FeaturesA whole range of firewood ready to cut!
We offer different lengths of logs in different packagings and with different levels of drying.
These features may vary depending on the season, but you will see them all here:
But also, our champion:
The compressed log
In our opinion, the best wood fuel is still compressed wood logs... Dry wood, clean, compact, and burns hot. You really need to try this...
1.9 stere of 25cm firewood ready to use
This high-performance batch allows you to make a fire that will light easily, heat immediately, and leave little ash
- Steamed and therefore ultra-dry wood - moisture content between 17 and 20%
- Pallet of 1.9 stere of stacked logs
- Logs of 25cm length
- Only hardwood species (oak, beech, hornbeam, ash)
- Sourced from sustainably managed UK forests
- Partially debarked
- Dusted and clean to the touch
High-performance kiln-dried logs
These logs have been through an industrial dryer, with several days of temperature cycle variations up to 80°C, so that the moisture is extracted to the maximum and a moisture content of between 17 and 20% is achieved, the level we call Ultra-Dry or High Performance.
Thanks to this ultra-low moisture content, the log will ignite quickly, produce very little smoke, and release strong heat, up to 30% more than semi-dry wood.
So when you buy this wood, it is as if you are buying the equivalent of 2.7 cubic meters of semi-dry logs!
Only the Most Calorific Hardwood Species
Only the best wood species are used: oak, beech, ash, hornbeam. Only deciduous woods, what we call hardwoods, because they allow a longer burning time with embers that last a long time.
These logs are well split into quarters to have varied sections between 8 and 18 cm, which allow a dynamic fire when lit and large logs to last longer.
The drying process also allows partial debarking of the wood pieces, which will generate less dust.
Firewood Pallet Delivered to Your Home
No more hassle of picking up loose firewood in front of your house!
This pallet of firewood contains 1.9 cubic meters of logs that are neatly stacked on a pallet. This will allow for a clean and efficient delivery to your home.
And you will be able to very easily check the amount of wood received by measuring the delivered pallet.
The 25cm size is ideal for small wood stoves and inserts
The 25cm size is particularly suitable for small fireplaces measuring 30cm and more, and that are low in power.
Buying the best quality logs (kiln-dried) and in the right size allows your fireplace to operate at its maximum efficiency. The heat output is then at its peak, the glass stays clean, the chimney's soot buildup is low, and you have to empty the ashtray much less frequently.
Even in open fireplaces, like chimneys, using kiln-dried logs allows for better combustion, less smoke, and less risk of sparks.
Usage tips:
Where to store kiln-dried firewood? As it is ultra-dry, it can be stored even in a non-ventilated place.
But it can also be very well stored outside, protected from the weather, because even if it absorbs a little surface moisture from the outside, the wood fibers have been opened by the drying process. It will therefore quickly release the absorbed moisture when you bring the logs inside a day before burning them.
How to light a fire without smoke?Use the. The principle is to place large logs underneath stacked perpendicularly in a way that leaves a hole in the center. Then arrange the kindling and fire starter on top. The fire will heat locally and "descend" into the structure only when the logs are hot enough to ignite, thus limiting smoke production.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How to recognize dry firewood?1/ if you knock. The duller the sound, the more water there is and
2/ the weight of a dry log will be less than that of a wet log (makes sense, there is less water!)
Softwood species from group 2, such as birch, ash, chestnut, elm, acacia, locust, linden, maple, cherry, spruce, willow, other fruit trees, or poplar for example, are perfectly suitable for wood heating, but they do not provide as long a burn time as oak or beech, for example (the harder the wood, the longer-lasting the ember will be). When these woods are burned, they burn faster and thus release their energy more quickly. In fact, they are an interesting mix for starting a fire efficiently... but once again, these logs absolutely must be well-seasoned.
Conversely, the wood species in group 1, which are called hardwoods, are denser, so they burn longer (but less intensely) and their embers are also denser, thus lasting longer. It is the longer burning time that is the reason why species from group 1 are preferred.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Moisture, pallet drop-off, storage, who we are, and what the price covers.
Is this Ready to Burn / dry enough?
Packaged firewood sold in small volumes in England must meet the Ready to Burn rules (under 20% moisture) when that scheme applies. Pellet lines on this site are sold to the grade shown on the page (commonly ENplus A1).
Wet fuel wastes heat, dirties glass, and in pellet appliances can swell and jam the auger. If a bag arrives torn and rain-soaked, refuse the wet stock with the driver or photograph it and email us within 48 hours with the order number.
Is delivery on a pallet, and can the lorry reach me?
Fuel usually arrives on a pallet to kerbside or the nearest firm ground the truck can reach. Drivers will not carry 15 kg bags up stairs or across a muddy lawn as a standard service.
If you live on a narrow lane, have a soft verge, or need a smaller vehicle, email us before you pay. Access failures and wet torn bags are the complaints we see most on fuel forums; flagging access early avoids a wasted journey.
Who sells and ships this product?
The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.
You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].
Is the product new?
What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.
How do you explain the displayed price?
Fuel prices follow the grade, bag count, and pallet make-up shown on this page. Firewood, pellets, and compressed logs never count toward the £350 free appliance delivery threshold, and fuel freight is never free whatever else is in the cart.
The cart shows the fuel shipping line before you confirm. We do not take cash from the driver, and we do not offer depot collection on this site.
How should I store pellets or logs once they arrive?
Keep bags sealed, indoors or under a proper cover, off damp concrete. A leaky shed or open porch is enough humidity to ruin a winter's pellets.
Logs need airflow if you buy larger volumes; Ready to Burn sealed nets are meant to stay closed until use. Do not stack fuel against the stove body.
Do I pay the driver for the wood or pellets?
No. The order is paid online before dispatch. The driver is not owed cash or a card payment for fuel or freight.
If someone at the door asks for money beyond a documented surcharge you already agreed with us in writing, refuse and contact us with the order number.
What if bags are torn or the pallet is wet?
Stay with the delivery, note dated reservations on the consignment note, photograph the damage, and email [email protected] within 48 hours. That is how carrier claims for fuel actually move.
Accepting a soaked pallet without notes makes replacement harder. Dry bags that are only scuffed on the outer wrap are usually fine; refuse fuel that has been sitting in water.
