The compressed log

In our opinion, the best wood fuel is still compressed wood logs... A dry, clean, compact wood that burns strong. You really need to try this...

Lot of 2.3 stere of kiln-dried wood 30cm, ready to burn

Discover our lot of logs, perfect for immediate fires and consistent heat, without excessive smoke or ash deposits.

  • Kiln-dried wood with a moisture content of 17-20%
  • 2.3 stere carefully packaged on a pallet
  • Length 30cm suitable for most heating appliances
  • Mix of noble woods: oak, hornbeam, beech, ash
  • Wood cut, treated, and dried in the UK
  • Neatly prepared with few bark pieces and almost no dust
  • Insect-free, pleasant to handle

Steamed firewood for exceptional efficiency

Thanks to a careful industrial drying phase, our logs have an extremely low moisture content. The steam injected into the kiln penetrates the heart of the wood to remove all traces of water, which allows for significantly superior performance.

With this ultra-dry wood, the heat produced exceeds that of semi-dry wood by 30%. In other words, one pallet corresponds to nearly 3 cubic meters of traditionally dried wood for a year.

Hardwood Species for Performance

The selection of hardwood, sourced from responsible forests, allows you to achieve a lively and long-lasting fire thanks to logs split into quarters, measuring from 6 to 14 cm.

Oak, hornbeam, beech, and ash make up this high-performance mix, whose advanced drying and debarking reduce dust and residues.

Bundle of Logs Delivered Cleanly to Your Home Anywhere in the UK

Thanks to our pallet wood service, the delivery is clean and hassle-free.

Well-packaged logs are easy to move and store, saving you time and avoiding the chore of loose firewood.

Checking the volume received becomes child's play.

The Importance of the Right Log Size for Your Appliance

Choosing a 30cm log for a stove or insert of medium power guarantees optimal use of your heating system.

Remember to check the available space in your firebox and to take logs that are at least 5 centimeters smaller than the firebox dimensions.

Usage Tips:

Where to store steamed logs?

Since steamed logs are ultra-dry, they can be stored in any room or wood shelter, closed or open. Given the quality of the wood, the ideal is to keep them well protected from water, of course.

How to start a fire with kiln-dried wood?

The fire will be started as usual with fire starter and kindling, but you will have less uncertainty at the start, you can use less kindling, there will be less smoke, and you will feel warmth in your room much more quickly

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do you measure the moisture of firewood?

The moisture content of firewood can be measured in a laboratory by dehydrating the wood, or with a moisture meter, which is a simple device that anyone can obtain.
There are two precautions to take when measuring:
Measure on several samples, in different spots, and insert the probes well

The measurement given by the device corresponds to moisture on a dry basis, which does not correspond to the official measurement of firewood, you need to do a

Why does wood crackle in the fire?

If you are certain that the wood is dry and that it is hardwood, no worries. Some dry woods like chestnut can cause pockets of air and gases to burst during combustion.

But if you notice smoke and difficulty in lighting your fire, then it is possible that the wood is not dry enough and should continue to dry.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Moisture, pallet drop-off, storage, who we are, and what the price covers.

Is this Ready to Burn / dry enough?

Packaged firewood sold in small volumes in England must meet the Ready to Burn rules (under 20% moisture) when that scheme applies. Pellet lines on this site are sold to the grade shown on the page (commonly ENplus A1).

Wet fuel wastes heat, dirties glass, and in pellet appliances can swell and jam the auger. If a bag arrives torn and rain-soaked, refuse the wet stock with the driver or photograph it and email us within 48 hours with the order number.

Is delivery on a pallet, and can the lorry reach me?

Fuel usually arrives on a pallet to kerbside or the nearest firm ground the truck can reach. Drivers will not carry 15 kg bags up stairs or across a muddy lawn as a standard service.

If you live on a narrow lane, have a soft verge, or need a smaller vehicle, email us before you pay. Access failures and wet torn bags are the complaints we see most on fuel forums; flagging access early avoids a wasted journey.

Who sells and ships this product?

The seller is Perth Stove Centre Ltd, a company registered in Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. We trade as a specialist hearth and solid-fuel retailer: we hold stock, prepare orders, and ship the reference shown on this page. We are not a marketplace listing other people's inventory. Registered office, company number, and contractual terms are in our legal notice.

You buy on thestovecentre.com, pay by card before dispatch, and we deliver to the mainland UK address on your order confirmation. No walk-in counter, no depot collection, and no cash or card payment to the driver. Sizing, lead times, or access questions before checkout: [email protected].

Is the product new?

What you see here is normally current manufacturer stock, supplied new and in the maker's factory packaging when the factory still provides one. Ex-display, end-of-line, or refurbished lines are uncommon on this catalogue; when they do appear, the product page states that in plain words in the description.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply if the goods arrive faulty or not as described. Keep the email confirmation and invoice. Where the manufacturer publishes a warranty for this reference, that warranty sits alongside for eligible parts under the maker's own registration rules and time limits.

How do you explain the displayed price?

Fuel prices follow the grade, bag count, and pallet make-up shown on this page. Firewood, pellets, and compressed logs never count toward the £350 free appliance delivery threshold, and fuel freight is never free whatever else is in the cart.

The cart shows the fuel shipping line before you confirm. We do not take cash from the driver, and we do not offer depot collection on this site.

How should I store pellets or logs once they arrive?

Keep bags sealed, indoors or under a proper cover, off damp concrete. A leaky shed or open porch is enough humidity to ruin a winter's pellets.

Logs need airflow if you buy larger volumes; Ready to Burn sealed nets are meant to stay closed until use. Do not stack fuel against the stove body.

Do I pay the driver for the wood or pellets?

No. The order is paid online before dispatch. The driver is not owed cash or a card payment for fuel or freight.

If someone at the door asks for money beyond a documented surcharge you already agreed with us in writing, refuse and contact us with the order number.

What if bags are torn or the pallet is wet?

Stay with the delivery, note dated reservations on the consignment note, photograph the damage, and email [email protected] within 48 hours. That is how carrier claims for fuel actually move.

Accepting a soaked pallet without notes makes replacement harder. Dry bags that are only scuffed on the outer wrap are usually fine; refuse fuel that has been sitting in water.
